![]() Tasks remain in the inbox unless they are specifically assigned to a project.Ĭhanging the due date on a task does not remove it from the inbox. Inbox management needs much improvement in Todoist. So here is a short list of some other key things that I think would greatly improve Todoist: I know there are some things that many people are already aware of - no start dates in Todoist, no support for areas, etc. They both have their own pros and cons, but they are also very much lacking when compared to Things 3 in terms of expected behaviour, workflow, and subscription-based pricing. So I ended up giving both Todoist and TickTick a good try. Not a great system when you also need access to your todo list on your PC. But it's only available on Apple devices, meaning that I could only use it on my iPhone and iPad. A new version of Clear is currently in development, but I think it will be on Apple devices only.įast forward several years, and I have still yet to find a todo app which behaves how I want. Unfortunately, new updates for Clear became scarce, and I also made the switch from MacOS to Windows as my main operating system. ![]() One of my favourites from back in the day was Clear, which had a fantastic and unique user interface. I've tried pretty much every todo app under the sun. Here's how to use it with Dataview: ```dataviewjsĭv.paragraph(await Todoist.getTaskMarkdown(dv.current().file.name)) This is intended to be used with CustomJS and Dataview or Templater. It also shows labels and the number of times a task had been rescheduled. It's a bit chatty because the Todoist API doesn't have some batch calls that would have simplified it, but it can list all tasks that were completed or due but were rescheduled for a specific date. I've gone ahead and written a script to do this and I thought I'd share. I really wanted my daily notes to have a snapshot of the tasks that I had for each day, whether I completed the task or not however, I couldn't find a plugin that could do that. Collaboration features are restricted to Pro subscribers, although free users have access to some limited sharing capabilities, which are worth exploring if you’re looking to share a to-do list among household members.I use Todoist heavily and I recently start using Obsidian. PCMag has not yet evaluated Todoist for Business, which also costs $28.99 per user per year and adds some centralized management, log-in tracking, and priority support.Ī competing service called Any.doFree at iTunes Store charges a little less than Todoist for its Pro account, at about $27 per year. You can organize up to 200 projects and have up to 25 people in each of them with a Premium account as well. It adds full collaboration capabilities, location-based reminders, labels and reminders, the ability to add tasks via email, and more. The free account lets you make up to 80 projects for organizing your tasks, and you can share your project with up to five people.Ī Premium account costs $28.99 per year, with no monthly option available. With the free app, you get all the core features for making tasks, including subtasks, but you miss out on task labels and reminders, location-based reminders, the ability to add notes and upload files, and a productivity chart that’s unique to Todoist. A free account gives you a good experience, but the Premium level unlocks features that people with productivity on the brain will want to use. If you need organizational help and are willing to pay, Todoist will keep you happy and productive.Īs mentioned, Todoist is a freemium product, like most other apps in the to-do list space. Although the free version of Todoist is very good, it’s much better at the Premium level, which is competitively priced. ![]() This excellent and reliableapp is available across a wide variety of devices, is easy to use, and has great core features. If you’re looking for the best to-do list app, one that works on all your devices, has great features for monitoring your productivity, and lets you geek out on the organization of tasks, Todoist is for you.
